Reproductive Health

We partnered with school health officials/nurses, VDC health administrator, various nonprofits from Nepal and India in our reproductive health educational program. We distributed “Freedom Kits” to high school girls in our pilot schools. We saw that many girls in Gorkha had a lot of unanswered questions about their bodies, mostly because menstruation is a topic not openly talked about. This observed need for safe learning spaces and the growing challenge of dealing with reproductive health and sanitary waste.
